Five tips for tight writing:

1.       Avoid overusing adjectives. One will always suffice.

2.       Cut unnecessary words, even if it’s just one.

3.       Avoid wordy clauses at the beginning of a sentence. The point can usually be stated in the middle of a sentence using fewer words.

4.       Consolidate related sentences. A comma and an ‘and’ can tighten it up.

5.       Critically evaluate content. If it’s not a strong point, cut it.
